Since fall 1990, the UCLA Quarter in Washington Program has offered students the only opportunity on campus to intern in Washington, DC while remaining a full-time UCLA student.
The UCLA Quarter in Washington Program sends a minimum of 30 UCLA undergraduates to study at UCDC in Washington each fall, winter, and spring quarter. UCLA is committed to admitting as many qualified students to the program as space permits at the UC Washington Center. The program offers a combination of internships, coursework relevant to Washington, DC, and the chance to make life-long career connections at the national level.
Program Overview
- Offered fall, winter and spring quarter
- Earn up to 16 upper division UCLA units
- Intern 3-4 days per week
Eligibility
- All majors welcome
- Minimum 3.0 UCLA GPA
- At least sophomore standing

- Optional elective courses available
- 195CE fulfills requirements of Community Engagement and Social Change, Labor Studies and Disability Studies minors;
- M194DC counts as one elective in Political Science, History, and Sociology, and by petition for International Development Studies
- The QiW program as a whole fulfills the fall quarter of the Public Affairs Major Capstone series (Public Affairs 187A)
- Other majors and minors may grant credit upon petition
