For each academic year, quarterly application deadlines for the minor will fall during Week 7, with acceptance notifications expected by the end of Week 5 of the following quarter. Therefore, fall quarter applicants will be informed of acceptance in time to enroll in spring quarter classes, winter applicants will be informed of acceptance in time to enroll in fall quarter classes, and spring applicants will now be notified of acceptance in time to enroll in winter quarter classes.

Students who have questions about the eligibility requirements (listed below) AFTER attending an information session about applying for the minor are encouraged to submit them to the minor student advisor, Janel Munguia, through UCLA Message Center.

Students not accepted into the minor with their first application are now permitted to apply a second time, in the quarter following the quarter their first application was denied (i.e. spring 2023 applicants denied in fall 2023 are eligible to submit a second application in winter 2024 and not before), provided they will have sufficient time to complete the minor requirements before their projected term of degree candidacy.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To apply for the minor, students must:

  1. Have an overall UCLA grade point average of 3.0 or better.
  2. Have completed previously and/or in progress for the current term a minimum of 3 upper division courses taken for a letter grade in any discipline at UCLA.
  3. Submit an unofficial UCLA transcript (downloadable via MyUCLA).
  4. Submit a current one-page resume, properly formatted. (Visit the UCLA Career Center for links to helpful resume tools such as Handshake –for links to resume tips, VMock–an online resume tool providing immediate feedback, and others.
  5. Provide a LinkedIn profile URL and a pdf of the LinkedIn profile.
  6. Complete a 500-word or less application essay describing how the minor enhances their major and career goals.
  7. Complete the application to the minor. (The application opens when you click the link below. Be sure to have your current resume and essay in Word or pdf format, and digital unofficial transcript ready to upload before you begin the on-line application.) Please note the application website is the only place your application submission will be acknowledged; no confirming e-mail message will be sent to you.

It is unacceptable to submit an application or resume that indicates you have already been accepted into the Minor in Entrepreneurship. (Would you submit a resume to a prospective employer indicating that you have already held the same position at the company to which you are applying?)
