For each academic year, quarterly application deadlines for the minor will fall during Week 7, with acceptance notifications expected by the end of Week 5 of the following quarter. Therefore, fall quarter applicants will be informed of acceptance in time to enroll in spring quarter classes, winter applicants will be informed of acceptance in time to enroll in fall quarter classes, and spring applicants will now be notified of acceptance in time to enroll in winter quarter classes.

The winter quarter application deadline is Friday, February 19, 2021. Live Zoom information sessions about applying to the minor are scheduled as follows:

Students unable to attend a live Zoom info session are strongly encouraged to view a recorded Zoom information session here before submitting an application. Students who have questions after viewing the recorded session are encouraged to submit them to the minor student advisor, Janel Munguia, via UCLA Message Center. All students are also welcome to self-schedule 15-minute Zoom appointments with the advisor through MyUCLA.

Students not accepted into the minor with their first application are now permitted to apply a second time, in the quarter following the quarter their first application was denied (i.e. spring 2020 applicants denied in fall 2020 are eligible to submit a second application in winter 2021), provided they will have sufficient time to complete the minor requirements before their projected term of degree candidacy (Management 160 completed before 161, Management 161 completed before capstone course Management 169).


To apply for the minor, students must:

  1. Have an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
  2. Have completed or in progress for the current term a minimum of 3 upper division courses in any discipline at UCLA.
  3. Submit an unofficial UCLA transcript (available to order via MyUCLA).
  4. . Submit a current one-page resume, properly formatted. (Visit the UCLA Career Center for links to helpful resume tools such as Handshake (for links to resume tips), VMock (online resume tool providing immediate feedback) and other resume tools.
  5. Complete a 500-word or less application essay describing how the minor enhances their major and career goals.
  6. Complete the application to the minor. (The application opens when you click the link below. Be sure to have your current resume and essay in Word or pdf format, and electronic unofficial transcript ready to upload before you begin the on-line application.) Please note the application website is the only place your application submission will be acknowledged; no confirming e-mail message will be sent to you.

Please DO NOT submit multiple applications. Only COMPLETE applications will be considered. It is unacceptable to submit an application or resume that indicates you have already been accepted into the Minor in Entrepreneurship. (Would you submit a resume to a prospective employer indicating that you have already held the same position at the company to which you are applying?)
